Monroe Gospel Women's Mission

Empowering Women to Transition from Homelessness to Self- Sufficiency

The mission was founded in 2005 to provide temporary shelter for homeless women in Snohomish County.  We are a 90 day emergency shelter.  We serve the entire spectrum of the homeless population including but not limited to, releases from hospitals, crisis beds and inpatient treatment centers, domestic violence situations, and those living in situations not fit for human habitation. Whatever the reason for their homelessness, the Mission does not discriminate and provides a much needed sanctuary in a safe, clean Christian environment.

Each year we connect 100 women with resources to address problems such as, mental health, addiction, disability, employment, and more. Clients are held accountable for their part in the growth process.  In our Goals class, they document steps needed to achieve their objectives.  They meet with a case manager to for direction and encouragement.  Growing Stronger is  our relationship class teaching skills such recognizing safe people and developing health boundaries.  We also offer spiritual growth opportunities through daily devotions and counseling.  Many of our residents choose to participate in this aspect of our program and begin attending a local church.
